The Ministry of Health (MOH) awarded USAID’s URC-implemented SUSTAIN project a certificate of recognition for its outstanding performance and contribution to the Uganda Health Laboratory Sector, as the project continues to enhance the quality of HIV/AIDS care and treatment service delivery through capacity building, quality improvement (QI), support towards lab accreditation, and laboratory infrastructure strengthening.
Using the principles of QI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) Quality Assurance Department and the USAID-funded Applying Science to Strengthen and Improve Systems (ASSIST) project, SUSTAIN supports hospitals in establishing more efficient and effective service delivery processes through improving existing systems while strengthening links between facilities and communities through work with community health departments and hospital teams.
