Gulu Regional Referral Hospital (RRH) is one of 13 public RRHs in Uganda. Located in the northern region, the hospital serves Acholi sub region comprised of the districts of Gulu, Amuru, Kitgum, Lamwo and Pader.
According to the 2014 census data, Gulu Hospital serves a population of 436,345 in the district. With a bed capacity of 397 beds, the hospital offers both general and specialized services and is a teaching hospital. The USAID/SUSTAIN project supports the hospital to deliver comprehensive HIV/AIDS services. In 2015, Gulu Hospital was selected as one of the six pilot/model centers for adolescent friendly health services and receives support from the project to set up and provide friendly services for adolescents in the region.
